Sacramento FBI Teen Academy

The Teen/Youth Academy allows high school students an opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI during a six-to-eight-hour block of instruction and demonstrations at the field office. Students are provided with several presentations on topics, including terrorism, cyber, public corruption, polygraph exams, evidence response, SWAT, and the day-to-day operations of a typical FBI office.

The Spring 2017 Sacramento FBI Teen Academy will be held Friday, April 7, 2017. The application period for the Sacramento Teen Academy is currently open; all applications must be received no later than 4 p.m.on February 23, 2017. Any high school junior attending enrolled in the following counties may apply: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Lassen, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Tuolumne, Trinity, Yuba, and Yolo. This presentation was originally delivered at the Educating for Careers Conference on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Sacramento. Please encourage relevant staff to attend the webinar:

Title:  Mapping and Reporting Career Technical Education Courses for State Reporting

Description:  Attendees will understand how to find the CTE course codes in the CALPADS documentation, what constitutes a CTE pathway, what credentials are required to teach CTE courses, and how to select the appropriate State Course Codes when mapping your courses for state reporting to CALPADS.

SMUD "I Can Afford College" Workshop

  • SMUD

SMUD will be hosting a workshop to help students (and parents) find out what financial and planning resources are available to help students go to college. This session will provide information on financial aid, including the SMUD Powering Futures Scholarship, and will highlight opportunities to transfer from a community college to a California State University (CSU) campus. A panel discussion will include speakers from the “I Can Afford College Campaign” and local financial aid experts to assist students in determining what type of aid they are eligible for, how much they may qualify for and how to apply.
